Team Draft Analysis

Well, it took me a while, but I've completed my team draft analysis. There's two main questions that come with any team draft analysis: Who had the best draft, and who had the worst. Opinions vary, but I've got my picks. For the best draft, I've picked the Carolina Panthers. They took Clausen 48th overall; perhaps the best steal of the draft, and they have also added a good QB in Tony Pike from Cincinnati. At WR, they drafted QB-turned-WR Armanti Edwards in the 3rd round, and Brandon LaFell from LSU also in the 3rd. These two should help Steve Smith, who's entering his tenth NFL season. At DE, they bring in some speed in Greg Hardy from Ole Miss and Eric Norwood from South Carolina. They drafted one of my favorite Connecticut players in CB/FS Robert McClain in the 7th round. Overall, the Panthers did well on draft day, and look to contend for the NFC South title in 2010. For the worst draft, I've chosen the Jacksonville Jaguars. I looked at the draft and only recognized one: DT Tyson Alualu from Cal. He was taken 10th overall. With all of the Jags' other needs, why did they draft a DT 10th overall?! I thought it was a good selection with DT D'Anthony Smith in the 3rd round, but certainly not earlier than that. They only had six picks anyway. The remaining four selections were: DE Austen Lane, RS/CB Scotty McGee, RB Deji Karim, and DE Larry Hart. Other teams also did very well, as well as very bad, but these drafts stood out to me.
